My employer has what they call a "Live Well" program. As part of this program, they have two health people on staff (I don't know what their official titles are, but they know all about food, exercise and all of that stuff). These people do classes like Yoga and a Boot Camp thing, but they are never offered at a time that I can make it. Now, they are offering personal coaching sessions. They have 4 sessions - the first one is about 45 minutes and the rest are 30 minutes. They will help you set out your goals and the plan to achieve them. I signed up for this yesterday, but haven't been contacted yet to schedule my first meeting.
What I am hoping to get out of this? I'm hoping they can tell me what kind of strength training I can do to compliment my running. Also, I need strength training for an overweight beginner. I've found tons of stuff in the magazines that I get in the mail, but they are all geared towards women that are already in shape. I need a starting point, and I think these people are the perfect people to help me out. Also, I'm not doing so well in the eating department. I have a lot to learn about nutrition and how to work it into my life. And they will be there to help me hold myself accountable for the food I'm putting in my mouth!
On another note, I went to the gym today to do my last day of the faster week 2 Couch to 5k. My legs were not ready for that after my 5k over the weekend. I had to skip one of the 90 second runs because my legs were burning so much, they just couldn't take it anymore! Not sure what I'm going to do the rest of the week!
